Need an inkjet coder? A DOD coder? A TTO coder? We’ve got them all here at PrintJet, but we know it can be tough to decide which type of code is the best fit for your production line.
The Inkjet Coder
Often just called a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coder, these industrial printers are typically used whenever you need a small character printer as well as for marking primary packaging. With a continuous inkjet coder, you can print variable information, alpha-numeric codes, date & time codes and logos.
The continuous inkjet coder is one of the most commonly used throughout the marking and coding industry. Our selection of CIJ coders includes refurbished models from Videojet®, as well as new coders from KGK®.
We love the KGK® inkjet coder models because they combine the best features of all OEMs into one easy-to-use printer that also features an impressively low price tag. These inkjet coders are perfect for fast production lines and KGK® coders are dustproof compliant for hard environments and all of the electronics are ROHS compliant and CE certified.
Additionally, KGK® coders are compact and easy to move around and set up. In fact, you can have your KGK® printer calibrated in 15 minutes or less. To learn more about all of the KGK® models available, look under the Printers/Coders tab on our homepage and select the Continuous Inkjet Printers section.
DOD Coders
For large-character printing, a DOD coder is the perfect option, and these types of coders also are ideal for secondary packaging. At PrintJet, we recommend our selection of InterMac® DOD coders, which are affordable and suitable for many different applications.
These easy-to-use DOD printers can code up to 175 meters per minute, and can be used for date and time coding, alpha-numeric coding or printing serial and lot numbers. These printers can be used for shipyard marking, bag marking, carton box marking, paper bag marking, paper roll marking and even for primer steel plate marking.
High-Resolution
Rather than deal with the expense of printing expensive labels or buying pre-printing boxes, our high-res printers can code directly on your box, saving you time and money. These printers are ideal for printing on secondary packaging as well as printing bar codes and for all large-character applications. At PrintJet, we can provide you with high-res printers from ALE®, Altima® and Proxima®.
For a quick look at what these types of printers can do, let’s take a look at the ALE® high-resolution printers. There are several different models to consider. For instance, if you need side-printing and omnidirectional printing, the ALE® Nano series printers or ALE® TZ-PR Series printers are the ideal options.
If you want full-color capabilities, the ALE® Coral CYMK and Calypso CMY series printers are a great option. Both of these models are low-maintenance and can print on porous or non-porous substrates. They also are easy-to-install, which means you’ll be up and running and coding quickly.
Thermal Transfer Overprinting
If you work with flexible packaging, thermal transfer overprinting should become your new best friend. In the past, printing on flex packs tended to result in difficult-to-read codes, but TTO printers can affix all your codes, batch numbers, dates and more in clear, easy-to-read type.
Our FlexPackPro® printers are the perfect upgrade from hot stamp or ink coders, and include the industry’s longest coder warranty, a full 18 months from the date you install it. These TTO printers cost about 25% to 40% less than other comparable TTO printers.
Quality Replacement Inks
Whether you need ink for a DOD printer, a continuous inkjet coder, a TTO printer or a high-resolution printer, there’s no getting past the fact that ink and makeup fluids can be quite expensive.
At PrintJet, our team of ink experts has formulated high-quality, low-cost replacement inks for virtually every ink situation and every make and model of industrial coding equipment.
Each of our inks undergoes a four-stage filtration system which reduces printhead maintenance and ensures that you won’t have to deal with sludge, residue or sediment. Our replacement inks also provide trouble-free conversion for all OEM coders, so you can just add new ink and keep on coding.
If you have a DOD printer, we can provide inks for porous and non-porous applications, we can provide you with alcohol or M.E.K.-based inks, pigmented DOD inks, drop-in replacement inks and even inks for cartons with varnish or a plastic coating.
We also provide inks for virtually any continuous inkjet coder application. This includes offering general purpose inks, M.E.K. inks, ethanol-based inks and methanol-based inks. We can provide you with UV curable and UV readable inks, dye-based colored inks, returnable glass inks, high-temperature inks and much, much more.
For those who aren’t quite certain what type of coder or inks they might need, give the team at PrintJet a call or click on the red Request Info tab and we will answer any questions you might have about our inks, an inkjet coder, DOD printer, high-resolution printer or TTO printer.
