The Costs Of Ink

Ink is something that virtually every type of company must use, even if it’s just used for printing documents on a standard office inkjet printer. Ink is also one of the most expensive supplies that companies much purchase, and for those who use an id coder, you know just how much inks and fluids can cost.

One of the reasons why inks cost so much is that they are quite difficult to create, and each ink must be specially formulated for a specific type, make and model of printer. For instance, the inks used for a CIJ printer would be quite a bit different from those created for a DOD printer. In addition, the inks created for a Domino printer will be different than those created for a Videojet printer or a Willett coder.

Coder inks, in general, must dry very rapidly and be able to be used on a variety of surfaces. Our clients print codes on everything from cardboard boxes to metal to glass and different types of plastic.

Purchasing ink directly from the manufacturer might seem like a good idea as you will have the precise type of ink for your coder, but the costs of these brand name inks are quite exorbitant. At PrintJet, we have an on-site lab where technicians carefully create generic versions of coder inks and make-up. Each ink is formulated with a four-stage filtration process that ensures there will be no sludge, sediment or residue.

We can create inks and make-up fluids for drop-on-demand coders, continuous inkjet coders and hi-resolution coders of any brand. We sell generic Domino inks for any Domino printer. We also sell generic versions of Videojet ink and Videojet fluids for all models. In addition, we also have ink and fluids for Marsh coders, Imaje coders, Linx coders, Cironix coders and more.
